Our porch is L shaped with a gazebo type turn. We have round columns. Placing of furniture is a question. What should be in the gazebo turn. It is a very large porch The gazebo is 12 feet in diameter and the length after the turn is 16 foot, the front part is 20 ft in length. thanks

Consider sitting in yourfavorite porch chair or porch swing and evaluate your view, what rail height offers the view/vison that you desire/or blocks something you wan to see from a setting position....desiring more privacy, build a higher rail....some porches would offer a much better view with a lower rail. You might also investigate the height of other porch rails...otherwise, consider the "golden mean" or 1.61803398875 X the length or avg length of your porches(18' X 1.61803398875= a 2.92' or35" rail height).
